ABOUT THE SERVICE : The Municipal Government of Nueva Era through the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office provides emergency financial assistance and/or referrals to individuals and families who are in extremely crisis situations and have inadequate resources subject to availability of funds. Referrals may also be made to support establishment.

WHO MAY AVAIL OF THE SERVICE:

  • Needy individuals or families

SERVICE COVERAGE:

  • Death of family member
  • Stranded in the municipality
  • Incapable of working in living alone
  • Seriously afflicted
  • Hospitalized member of the family

REQUIREMENT/S:

  • Barangay certificate of residency of indigency
  • Medical certificate and other medical records
  • Death certificate if services is death/burial assistance

Issuance of a Certificate of Indigency

ABOUT THE SERVICE : The Municipal Government of Nueva Era through the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office provides a certificate of indigency to individuals who may wish to avail of the service of different agencies such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative – free electrical installation
  • Public attorney’s office – legal assistance
  • NGO project/mission – surgical, medical, dental, optometric, feeding programs and Christmas gift-giving.

  • Families who are in the masterlist of indigents certified by the Punong Barangay

Provision of Self-Employment Assistance Program

ABOUT THE SERVICE : The Municipal Government of Nueva Era through the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office provides interest-free capital assistance and other livelihood-oriented services to deserving and needy individuals, groups and organizations.

  • Individuals, families, and organizations with limited capital

  • Certification from the Punong Barangay that applicant’s monthly family income is not more than Php 6,000.00

ABOUT THE SERVICE : The Municipal Government of Nueva Era through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office provides social services to women victims of exploitation, domestic violence and all forms of abuse.

  • Battered women
  • Maltreated women (women who are emotionally-disturbed, economically abused)
  • Rape victims
  • Victims of involuntary prostitution
  • Women victims of mismanagement (illegal recruitment)

  • Rescue and recovery of victims
  • Counseling
  • Assistance in filing a case
  • Provision of temporary shelter and custodial care
  • Referral to other service agencies

ABOUT THE SERVICE : The Municipal Government of Nueva Era through the municipal social welfare and development office provides social case study report to the beneficiary to avail assistance and other government hospitals, institutions, and non-government organizations. Municipal government of Nueva Era provides such reports to its citizens who need it.

REQUIREMENT/S:

  • Certificate of indigency (issued by the Punong Barangay)
  • Medical history/abstract/medical certificate
  • Tentative hospital bills

Provision of Disaster Relief Assistance

ABOUT THE SERVICE : The Municipal Government of Nueva Era through the municipal social welfare and development office provides assistance to individuals and families who are victims of natural and man-made calamities such as typhoons, floods, fire, etc.

SERVICE COVERAGE:

  • Distribution of relief goods
  • Delivery of food commodities to evacuation centers
  • Provision of financial assistance to families whose homes are partially/totally damaged
  • Counseling of individuals and families who are emotionally and psychologically depressed as a result of the disaster

The office facilitates the provision of financial assistance from national government offices (e.g. DSWD, Office of Civil Defense and other agencies to the affected families.
